Bear Grizzly created the imprint Legends Untold in 2005. The multimedia company is the housing company for his music and creative vision. With the help of the production company Hi-Life Productions, he has released six albums that have sold independently around the world.
In 2003, he dropped the underground classic The Bear Witch Project that established his name in Hip hop circles. The local success of the Project allowed Bear to expand to different markets throughout the Midwest and around the country. He used that leverage dropped a series of mixtapes entitled Street Albums. The three-part mixtapes series moved over 30,000 units independently through markets like Chicago, Miami, and New York City. While moving around and spreading the word, Bear opened up for established artists, such as Nappy Roots, Goodie Mob, and Rick Ross.
After a brief hiatus, Bear came back in 2015 to dropped the album Utopia, produced by Joe Burn Em. Bear explains why he decided to record the album: “JB was having heart surgery, and I promised him that I would utilize the music that he sent to me,” Bear explained. “He had so many dope beats, I just wanted to dedicate something to his talents.” The critical acclaim Utopia, sparked Bear to periodically to drop more music. He has Youtube series titled Skills Sundays, where he blesses the people with some bars acapella or over some of his favorite beats. “I just wanted to show there are still artists out here with lyrics,” Bear says about the Skills Sunday series.
